ASSOCIATIONS INVOLVED

The concept of the town twinning is one of the key elements of this peaceful process in Europe and represents an important basis for friendship between people of the cities involved.

The objective of the twinning will be achieved only if the principles of the latter manage to enter the daily and cultural life of the citizens.

The main role of a municipality in a twinning lies in the creation of cultural, educational, social and institutional exchanges.

To make the connection concrete and bring them to life in the sectors of culture, art, sport, and especially in the social and educational sectors associations are born to promote and implement concrete activities such as:

Concerts and exhibitions
Food and wine projects and parties
Sport Events
Training activities trough courses, internships, exchanges, workshops, trips and summer camps
Artistic, cultural, sports, tourism, environmental and social projects in collaboration with public and private schools, aimed at maintaining and strengthening both institutional and personal relationships

Prato Wangen Association
In the context of the twinning with Wangen, there are two associations - one in Wangen and one in Prato. Both associations organize initiatives in the two cities in all sectors of cultural and social life and in particular in the field of training through exchanges, school trips, internships and other activities involving young people.

Prato Ebensee Associations
The Prato-Ebensee twinning association was founded in Prato, in 1997 on the initiative of the Municipality of Prato and the Prato section of ANED (National Association Former Deportees in Nazi concentration camps). Since then there have been many contacts at private, scholastic, political and levels. The twinning association was therefore also founded in Ebensee to coordinate the partnership and the anniversary celebrations.
